about

When his sister suffers from a drug overdose, a young professional living in Detroit returns to his native West Virginia, where he finds dramatic changes in the place he bitterly left behind. "Dust in the Bottomland" is a musical monodrama (opera with one singer) with text and music by Nate May, in collaboration with Andrew Munn. Since its debut in August 2013, Andrew and Nate have performed it for audiences within and beyond the central Appalachian region they call home.
